Florida-based AirWater announced today that the company has made a $2.6 million sale of its air-to-water machines to the African market.
The contract calls for 50 plus containers of its machines to be shipped to a number of countries around Africa starting in April and concluding in August.
"Our range of machines are making water for a variety of uses, including such applications as the military using the distilled water for topping up car batteries, hospitals using the water for operating rooms, drilling and mining companies using our machines in mines 100 feet underground, etc.," said company president Michael Zwebner.
The deal was made in conjunction with distributors WaterMaker India and WaterMaker South Africa.
"The technology is extremely appropriate for Africa and our next objective is to introduce 'pure water from the air' to Africa's vulnerable communities. Apart from the commercial market, we are increasing our activities with both government and non-governmental organizations," said Bruce Milliken, president of WaterMaker South Africa.
Air Water Corp. designs and makes a range of air-to-water machines and systems that can offer consumers from 25 liters to over 5,000 liters of pure filtered drinking water daily. The company manufactures the machines in several global manufacturing locations.
Its growing list of customers include the U.S. military, the British government, African mining companies, the South African army, as well as thousands of private clients in over 35 countries, the company said.
